Traac Sign Recognition Revisited
The rst part of this paper provides an overview of previous work on traac sign recognition. Various components are discussed, such as detection, classiication and temporal integration. The second part of this paper covers a recently developed shape-based system, based on distance transforms. This system has been quite successful in detecting and recognizing traac signs in real-timee we report s...
متن کاملThe Joint Signature and Encryption Revisited
We study the Sign then Encrypt, Commit then Encrypt and Sign, and Encrypt then Sign paradigms in the context of two cryptographic primitives, namely designated confirmer signatures and signcryption. Our study identifies weaknesses in those paradigms which impose the use of expensive encryption (as a building block) in order to meet a reasonable security level. Next, we propose some optimization...
متن کاملSummation Problem Revisited - More Robust Computation
Numerical data processing is a key task across different fields of computer technology use. However even simple summation of values is not precise due to the floating point representation use. This paper presents a practical algorithm for summation of values convenient for medium and large data sets. The proposed algorithm is simple, easy to implement. Its computational complexity is O(N) in th...
متن کاملModality Effects Revisited: Iconicity in Chinese Sign Language
Tai (2005) argues for the importance of iconicity as a fundamental property of language, illustrating the modality effects of iconicity through the study of a set of iconic devices used in Taiwan Sign Language (TSL). This paper extends Tai’s research, in exploring the iconic devices used in another Asian sign language, Chinese Sign Language (CSL). Some preliminary comparisons are made in this p...
متن کاملThe dural tail sign revisited.
The “dural tail sign” was described by Wilms and colleagues as a thin, tapering rim of dural enhancement, in continuity with a convexity meningioma on gadopentetate dimeglumine– enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) (1). Goldsher and associates subsequently, in 1990, demonstrated the dural tail sign in 60% of their series of meningiomas and concluded that its presence, associated with an extraaxial ...
